What about weight transfer?
Thank you
Not a ton of weight transfer
Thanks for watching
Weight is forward to start and stays forward...
Tried your tip today. Best shot ever out a bunker. Had height, distance, even backspin. Playing partner was impressed, as was I. Thank you.
That’s awesome !thanks for watching.
No mention of staring about an inch behind the ball? Also, as is mentioned below, you are using a perfect bunker. This barely exists in Michigan. Lol. Good luck with this approach in basically mud in many cases.
So you’re right- if it helps to stare at least two inches depends on ability level. Hard bunkers play it like a pitch shot. Don’t use the bounce or the back of the club.
I'm in mid-atlantic states and most courses I play are very nice but bunkers are nothing like your demo's. More like a dry redi-mix concrete when dry but very compacted and HEAVY when recovering from rain. I've lived in Florida near almost all the courses you demo in; but have played in less value conditions ,especially during summer daily rain season. Can you demo bad bunker conditions that are less than PGA values?? Like to see some Thanks Jim
hey jim- you cld just try and play the bunker shots you’re describing as literally a pitch shot where possibly stand a smidge taller and play the ball in the middle. Lean forward and hit down with your right arm staying wide so to speak. If you’re right handed.
Sounds like you'd be better served putting out of the types of bunkers you describe....
There is no big problem in getting out of a bunker when it is in soft sand as in your demonstration . More problematical is the bunker shot when it lies on compacted sand (as can often happen on English courses) when the club head instead of entering the sand bounces off the top skulling the ball. Do you have a technique for coping with this situation?
Gosh it seems many are asking the same question. Play the ball middle. Lean forward. Keep spine and head on top of the ball. Keep trail arm wide and hit into the ball as if it was a buried lie. Use the leading edge more
Choose a club with less bounce for these conditions
What do you mean by the term "back of the club"?
Prob the bounce not the leading edge.
She's referring to the bounce on the bottom/ back of the club. The back would be the side opposite the face
My bunker play is awful i'll give this a try and see what happens thanks for the info.
